PEX Repiping

In addition to our Copper Repiping applications, Repipe Specialists also provides expert PEX repipe service.

What is PEX?
PEX, also known as or crosslinked polyethylene is a water supply piping system with many advantages over standard metal pipe made from iron, lead or rigid plastic pipe systems with PVC, CPVC or ABS. PEX is much faster to install than metal-based pipe and has fewer connections and fittings. PEX is flexible, resists chlorine and scale and it will not corrode or develop pinhole leaks.

What is PEX?Flexible PEX tube is manufactured by extrusion and is shipped and stored on spools. This is a big advancement in the labor required to do the job, as typical rigid plastic or metal piping must be cut to size for practical shipping and storing. This gives PEX several advantages, including lower shipping and handling costs due to decreased weight and improved storage options.

PEX repipe installations do not require as many fittings as rigid piping does. The flexible tubing of PEX can turn 90 degree corners without a need for elbow fittings. PEX tubing is unrolled from spools and can be installed in long length without the need for additional coupling fittings.

Attaching PEX tube to fittings does not require soldering or the use of a torch, eliminating many safety and health hazards involved with lead-based solder and acid fluxes used in sealing fittings and connections.

PEX is much more resistant to freeze-breakage than copper or rigid plastic pipe.

PEX tubing does not transfer heat as readily as copper, conserving energy and lowering your utility bills.

Water flows more quietly through PEX tube. The common “water hammer” sounds of metal-based pipe systems is almost completely eliminated.

PEX plumbing installations are often more cost effective because PEX is less expensive than copper pipe, less time is spent running pipe and installing fittings than with metal-based or rigid pipe systems and installing fewer fittings with PEX reduces the chances for return service calls.

PEX Repipe Customer Review
“I had no idea that the subdivision in Orange County that I just purchased my home in was prone to slab leaks. I found out the hard way when entering my garage one night and finding a pool of water gushing out of the slab. With some thorough investigation I found out where the general leak area was and called a local plumber. After he showed up, he provided me with a really high estimate to get the job done.

I did a search online and came across Repipe Specialists. After filling out the form I was promptly called the next morning by a dispatcher, who sent out a crew to inspect the problem within just a few hours. After they investigated the issue further, they provided me with all of my options for the repair and a few ideas on how I could upgrade the entire plumbing structure of the house. I was shocked to read the estimate and learn that the price was LESS THAN HALF of what the regular plumber wanted, and I was getting a whole lot more with Repipe Specialists. I now have a full PEX system in my house and love the quietness of the water pipes. A big improvement. The job was done in just one full day. I could not be happier! Thanks a ton guys!
